HISTORY OF THE INDIAN REUNIFICATION ASSOCIATION

The Indian Reunification Association (IRA) was founded by Markandey Katju and Yuhunna Lakhnavi on 5 February 2019 in order to reunify what is now Pakistan and Bangladesh with India. The idea of this organization was conceived by Katju, a Justice of the Supreme Court of India, in 2016 and it has received a significant amount of media coverage since that time in newspapers such as The Huffington PostKashmir LifeThe NationThe Times of IndiaThe HinduIndica NewsBusiness LineThe Indian Express, among others. Since then, we have received a significant amount of support from those living in what is now Pakistan, Bangladesh, as well as in India, for Indian Reunification. We hope that you will join us to make this dream a reality. 

CHARTER OF THE INDIAN REUNIFICATION ASSOCIATION

1. The Indian Reunification Association (IRA) has been formed for the purpose of spreading the idea of peaceful and voluntary reunification of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh under a secular government. It does not aim at or advocate forcible overthrow of any government.

2. The Chairman of IRA is Justice Markandey Katju, former Judge, Supreme Court of India, and the Vice Chairman is Yuhunna Lakhnavi. The Chairman has authorised the Vice Chairman to take decisions and make appointments on posts in the IRA subject to approval by the Chairman.

3. The Chairman has authorised the Vice Chairman to admit persons applying for membership at his discretion. The person applying must agree with the views in the Mission Statement.

4. The Chairman can terminate membership of any member at any time without giving reasons and without giving any show cause notice.
